Water is the key to life. It quenches thirst, sustains life and invigorates a tired soul. In the United States, most people have access to clean and safe water. However, in a number of areas throughout the world, clean water is not available or requires a daily long walk carrying heavy buckets. To reach these locations, people and organizations can work together as a team to help a village develop and maintain their water supply. Are you a NGO or church who wants to provide clean water to a clinic, school, orphanage or village? Our organization, Water for Small Villages can help you.
Water for Small Villages (WFSV) was founded in 2012 with a goal of bringing clean water to small communities and locales where there was a need. Additionally, WFSV works to coordinate water organizations to ensure knowledge is shared. The first project was at a clinic in Haiti. Our founders, Steve and Rick used their experience there to create WFSV and since then the projects have expanded.
Water for Small Villages acts as a consulting firm for water supply projects. Working with a sponsoring entity – it could be a church, orphanage, or village – WFSV first learns about the issues involved. It could be simple such as repairing a well. Or it could be more complicated such as locating a source of water, drilling wells, and constructing a simple water system. WFSV provides a direct helping hand from site analysis, project design, project construction, and teaching the necessary maintenance to the responsible parties. Water for Small Villages does much of their work with volunteers. This act of volunteering contributes to the overall success of the organization.
When it comes to skill sets, Water for Small Villages has a diverse spectrum. The organization consists of hydrogeologists, project managers, engineers, coordinators, brainstormers, and solution providers. If you have a project that we can help with, let us know. If you want to be a part of our initiative, you may send us an inquiry at Steve@waterforsmallvillages.org.
